2016 Taste Washington seminars

Taste Washington is coming up March 31st through April 3rd. I had the privilege of working with the Washington Wine Commission to organize this year's educational seminars, and I believe we have a terrific lineup.

There are two seminars that I will be moderating this year. Saturday, April 2nd from 10:30-12pm, I will be moderating a panel on Washington Cabernet titled, "King Cab! An exploration of Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon." We'll be tasting a selection of Cabernet from around the state and talking about what makes Washington Cabernet distinct. Joining me on the panel will be Sarah Goedhart (Hedges Family Estate), Linn Scott (Sparkman Cellars), Rick Small (Woodward Canyon Winery) and Josh Maloney (Maloney Wine & Milbrandt Vineyards). See the lineup of wines we'll be sampling here. Come say hello!

Then on Sunday, April 3rd from 10:30am-12pm, I am moderating a seminar I could not be more excited about titled, "Through the Grapevine: Lessons learned from a lifetime in Washington wine." Here I'll be talking with six long-time growers and winemakers about their experiences in the Washington wine industry. Panelists include Bob Betz, MW (Betz Family Winery), Jim Holmes (Ciel du Cheval Vineyard), Allen Shoup (Long Shadows), Gary Figgins (Leonetti Cellar), Alex Golitzin (Quilceda Creek), and Kay Simon (Chinook Wines). In addition, we have a stellar lineup of wines to enjoy. This one is not to be missed!

Other seminars at Taste Washington this year include "Washington vs the World 2016""Tasting Washington: Exploring what Washington wine tastes like and why""Riesling on the Rise"; and "A Sense of Place: The role of vines and man in the vineyard."

See the complete list of Taste Washington seminars and wines as well as other events at the Taste Washington website. Hope you can join us!
